Alkaline Diet: Simple Step Towards Health and Longevity

What I notice most about people who take on “diets” at an attempt to get healthier, is the complete lack of foundational knowledge of the properties food possess. The difference between alkaline and acidic foods is one of the first, and thus far, most important things I learned about sound nutrition, with the consensus amongst nutritionists and health gurus to eat alkaline. Alkaline and acid are terms that derive from the famed PH (Potential Hydrogen) Scale.
So Why are alkaline foods better for you? Alkaline foods have the ability to bring oxygen to your cells help your body regenerate faster, and remove excess toxins from your body. When your body is in an acidic state, caused from having a diet rich in acid foods, cells are overpowered by toxins and inhibit your bodies immune system from doing its protective duties. Acidic foods not only inhibit your health and longevity, it also can cause cancer and other degenerative diseases. Biochemist Otto Heinrich Warburg won the Nobel Prize for finding the root cause of cancer as oxygen deficiency caused by an acidic state in the human body.
What steps can we take towards health and longevity, as well as prevent degenerative diseases? In my opinion the first and most important step is to make lifestyle changes eliminating acidic foods, and incorporating alkaline foods to your diet. In America, as well as other industrialized nations, diets are high in acidic foods coming from fast foods, processed foods, white flour, dairy products, sugary soft drinks, and dairy products. Conscious effort must be made to eliminate, or at the very least minimize the intake of these acidic foods, and substituting them with nutrient-dense alkaline foods. As with any change, it must be gradual, so I recommend cutting out carbonated drinks, sugary juices, and substituting one meal with a green salad. Alkaline supplementation is always helpful, and there are plenty of powder green mixes you can combine with water or sugar-free apple juice to help bring give your body more nutrients. This blog is a manifestation of my love for nutrition, my belief in natural remedies, my passion to help people reverse aging, my desire to have health and longevity in my life, and see my children do the same, as well as my belief food groups lobbying the government do not have people's best interest in mind. I've always wondered if the government is to be completely trusted, if all their intentions are pure, if they truly represent the peoples best interests in happiness and prosperity. I can't account for all the hard working people within the government, but I do believe enormous lobbies, specifically, pharmaceuticals, and the meat and dairy lobbies hold tremendous power over what elected officials get into office. I also believe it's quite possible for large corporations to influence studies and reviews with the money they have. Being intertwined with the alternative health field for the last few years, I believe in my stance due to the numerous people I encountered that informed me of how being conscious about their food has changed their life for the better.
My reason for writing this, is not to display any distrust I have for elected officials, but to just give a good, strong, example as why I believe it is important to learn an alternative way to health and longevity, and not leaving the wellness of you and your family in the hands of organizations that may or may not have your best interest in mind. I believe knowledge is power, and knowledge of what foods will bring you more energy, focus, and clarity will give you a lot of power.
